Hunts Recruitment is looking for an experienced Deputy Manager for a full time, permanent vacancy in Ellesmere Port!
Under the direction of the Home Manager, you will provide a healthy, stimulating, safe environment for the young people and staff and to manage the home in the absence of the Home Manager.
Main Duties / Areas of Responsibility:

To engage in the effective delivery of residential care in accordance with company policies and procedures.

To maintain good professional practice in the home in accordance with National Standards.

To create a positive environment for each resident with particular regard to their safety, health and education.
-
To contribute to residents' care plans, their review and implementation.
-
To form constructive relationships with residents and their families to ensure that a caring environment is maintained, their emotional and physical needs are met, “Safe Care” standards are met and opportunities for their development are maximised.

To ensure that the young people’s views and wishes are sought and acted upon where appropriate.

Subject to the approval of the Home Manager to plan, support and develop local initiatives designated to meet the needs of the young people.
To deputise for the Manager in all professional and administrative functions with particular reference to the following areas:

Professional supervision of staff
-
Development of staff
-
Rota planning – ensuring that shifts are appropriately covered
-
Development of policy, practice and procedures.

Reg 44 and 45 Quality of Care review
-
Care plan development.
-
Induction training.
-
Work routine/ shift planning.
-
Team building/ training and staff development.
-
Safe care and discipline.
-
Health and safety of staff and residents
-
Oversight of Educational placements – ensuring close communication with Educational providers
Essential Attributes:
-
2 years’ experience in a Residential Children’s home, at least 1 year as a team leader/senior support worker (or equivalent)

Ability to be flexible to ensure rota management
-
Hold NVQ or Diploma level 3 in Children and Young people
-
To undertake on-call duties as per rota as and when required
-
Hold a full driving licence with own car and Business insurance, and to use own car if required
-
Good leadership skills
-
Experience of completing good quality supervisions

Ability to ensure good quality records are maintained/ reports produced, and young person’s files up to date
-
Sound knowledge and understanding of the Social Care inspection framework (SCCIF)
-
Sound knowledge and understanding of the Quality Standards
-
Knowledge of the Children’s Home’s Regulation’s 2015
-
Hold or working towards NVQ/Diploma level 5
