Residential Support Worker - Children and Young People
Location: Totton - Southampton
Job Type: Permanent - Full time
Must have full UK drivers license & Right to work full time in the UK
Salary:basic of £29,484 per annum PLUS up to an additional £7,088 per annum for sleep in duties. Salary increase after successful probation
Hours: 45 hours plus up to 2x sleep ins per week. Weekend working: Rolling Rota
Childcare experience preferred
Your job role will be:
To work within a small residential service for children and young people who have experience trauma, neglect and/or abuse. You will be paramount in providing a safe and secure environment where young people can heal and flourish.
- To contribute and participate in providing quality care and life experiences to vulnerable people
- To help provide a therapeutic, structured and relaxed environment in which service users can develop and enjoy their lives.
- Identifying the residents emotional, physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs and make appropriate decisions for action in consultation with the Management Team.
- To supervise and share meal times with the young people, to encourage a positive attitude towards food and appropriate behaviour at mealtimes.
- To assist in the delivery of day care and leisure opportunities following individual activity programmes in conjunction with, and following guidance from day staff.
